Remote work in Latin America: Find out what employees prefer

The firm Zoho presented its new study titled “Remote work, the need that drove confinement ”. The data was collected in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Chile. This research ensures that more than 90% of employees prefer remote work in Latin America.

Since the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work was the way in which many employees continued their work. After the relaxation of measures against the pandemic, this type of work still remains the preferred one for many in the Latin American region.

According to the survey carried out Telegram Number Data between March and April 2022, among employees and managers of companies in Latin America, fully remote work is shown as the preferred one to carry out your daily tasks. Currently, it has 47% favorability, followed by the hybrid scheme, with 45%< a i=6>.


Meanwhile, hybrid work refers to the possibility of employees carrying out some activities in the company's offices in person during certain hours a week, and others in their homes, through the Internet and cloud technology services.

The Chief Evangelist of Zoho, Raju Vegesna, highlights that to the extent that organizations adopt this trend and incorporate technology, their progress in productivity and economic development will be notable.

These are also the basis for all remote work models, giving them the possibility of accessing all the resources they need, anywhere and at any time,” commented Vegesna.

It highlights that the long period of confinement consolidated trends such as “accelerated digitalization, smart consumption, sustainability, and hybrid and remote work,” among others. This allowed organizations to begin prioritizing the well-being of their employees, as a way to retain talent and leverage their knowledge.
